Polina is a strong and cheerful 11-year-old girl who fights for her health every day. Two years ago, she learned about her diagnosis – type 1 diabetes. This is an autoimmune disease in which the body stops producing its own insulin, and every meal now requires precise calculation of carbohydrates and insulin administration. Since then, the girl's life has changed – constant monitoring of blood sugar levels, insulin therapy, careful attention to nutrition and physical activity have become her daily companions.
In addition, Polina has another autoimmune disease – thyroiditis, which affects the thyroid gland. This adds its own challenges, as the body needs special care and regular check-ups.
Despite everything, the girl remains active, inquisitive, and cheerful. She loves to draw, adores reading adventure books, and dreams of traveling the world. She is learning to live with her diagnoses without losing her childlike sincerity and faith in a better future. She proves that even with diabetes and autoimmune thyroiditis, it is possible to be happy, active, and dream of a great future. However, she needs help to do this – constant treatment and special care, including sensors for continuous monitoring of blood sugar levels, are putting an increasing strain on the family budget with each passing day.
Don't let this strength, sincerity, and faith in the future wither and fade away!
