Adelina is a kind, cheerful, creative, and active girl who draws incredibly well, loves the whole world, and dreams of becoming a famous artist. She has many friends in her neighborhood with whom she likes to play ball, spin a hoop, and ride a bike in her free time. Adelina also loves gymnastics.
Three years ago, like a bolt from the blue, she was diagnosed with type I diabetes. The war and COVID-19 triggered the disease: the child began to lose weight rapidly, she was tormented by thirst, and one morning she simply fainted. Her parents quickly took her to the hospital, where they learned about their daughter's illness. Since then, their lives have been divided into "before" and "after". Every day of the child's life has become a test of endurance, strength, and self-confidence. Daily measurements, injections, tests, and fear for her life exhaust her, but the girl does not give up – she dreams all the time that one day a cure for diabetes will be found. So instead of a carefree childhood, Adelina is learning to live with this terrible disease – counting bread units, giving herself insulin injections, listening to her body, and monitoring her blood sugar levels with a glucometer, which means more than 15 measurements a day.
However, recently, Adeline's body has undergone significant hormonal changes, and it has become more difficult to control her levels. There are days when nothing helps to overcome high sugar levels or raise low ones. The situation is complicated by the fact that the girl does not feel low blood sugar. This is extremely dangerous for her life. Therefore, there is a vital need for constant blood sugar monitoring.
Unfortunately, the family cannot afford to buy sensors due to their high cost, as only the father works in the family. Her mother was forced to leave her job as a school teacher to constantly care for her child and ensure her safety. The family sincerely believes that your help and support will allow their daughter to live a happy, less troubled childhood with the help of sensors. These devices are her chance for a life without pain and fear for her life.
