Hearts Charity Evening 2020

Few people think about how many beats the heart makes during the day, how many liters of blood it pumps. We generally forget about it, taking health for granted. The same cannot be said for babies diagnosed with congenital heart disease. Each beat of their heart is a huge bonus for a tiny organism and a strong desire to continue living. Each person has a specific mission. We ourselves decide which challenges to pose and to which goals to go.  

HeartsCharityEvening is a charity project that has brought together people whose mission is admirable. “A healthy heart without scars for every child” – there are only a few words in this phrase, but each of them contains our great strength and desire to help. Children diagnosed with heart disease are no different from healthy babies, except that their heart seems to be counting down beats on credit. And each next one is more valuable than the previous one.

HeartsCharityEvening organizes charity events to raise funds for endovascular surgery. It is they who help children to become healthy, while there are no scars on their tiny hearts, babies do not receive psychological trauma from the procedure, they do not even know what is happening, and during the operation they watch cartoons.

HeartsCharityEvening is not limited to fundraising. The project has an ambitious goal – to do everything possible at the state and executive levels to make the development of endovascular medicine in Ukraine possible. Why Endovascular Surgery? What are occluders for? In most cases, "heart disease" is a congenital disease. And if you carry out the operation in childhood, you can help the child.  If it is delayed with surgery, it can turn into serious consequences and endanger human life.

There are specialists in our country who can carry out operations of this level of complexity. But the problem is that the cost of the implant varies from 30 to 100 thousand hryvnia. Not every family is willing to pay this amount. And not all children are born to wealthy parents who can afford to purchase an implant. But we do our best, because we are responsible for those whose hearts are in our hands.

To date, the results of HeartsCharityEvening are impressive: 142 healthy hearts in 4 years! Children who continue to live, forgetting forever about the diagnosis of heart disease. For 4 years, 4 evenings were spent and 11,190,772 hryvnia were collected.

"HEALTHY HEART WITHOUT SCARS"
HeartsCharityEvening managed to achieve the inclusion of endovoscular surgeries in the state target program for 2019 and 2020.
For the first time in Ukraine, UAH 70 million was allocated for the purchase of occluders in 2019. These funds helped to save a large number of children. But in order to save everyone, 110 million hryvnias are needed annually.

The budget program "Healthy heart without scars" was developed by doctors and relevant ministries. This is a chance to help children diagnosed with heart disease on an ongoing basis. And the HeartsCharityEvening project aims to achieve 100% funding for this program. This program is again under consideration by the State and we very much hope that, as before, officials will support us and even more children and adults will forget about heart disease. We do our best to make our plans come true and help children. We are not stopping! When there is a huge goal, then there are those who are ready to stand by and do one common thing together.

In the meantime, the program is under consideration, we decided not to wait and save children's lives now. The goal of our project this year is to help children who cannot be helped by the state under the program. And the life of every child is priceless and needs urgent help.
