Cats’ house

The phrase "We are responsible for those who we have tamed" is in everyone's memory since childhood. Rare person with a sensitive heart can get past the hungry cat, and eventually the house turns into a shelter. The pathetic is blending us of thinking that every day you have to feed them, and give them our attention. So often not all of the saved animals can eat enough, have a bad health, often sick, have uncontrolled seeds - all of this cause lots of tensions with neighbors. Our project goal is to support the private shelters with food and search for new owners for animals.

There is one small animal shelter in Kiev with lots of cats taken from street for some time. Everyone has its’ own small tragedy for sure. The family of pensioners has been saved many animals and taken many of them to their house. It is a question, thus, for how many of the animals they support enough care for their small pension? Almost all cats suffer from lack of support, food and medical care due to money shortage.

The Youth Animal Protection League use its’ own capacity to support such mini-shelters only in case the owner realize and agrees that all inhabitants have to be neutered, provided with qualitative food and amount of them have to be decreased by rehoming. Again, we stress that it is our responsibility to realistically estimate how many pets we can support with our care and attention.

Our main goal is to find funds to support the one shelter of 21 cats for quality food for 3 month. We plan to buy cat's food «Cat Chow» for urinary tract health taking into account the price of 515 UAH / bag of 15 kilos. As an average cat can eat around 70g of food per day, the projected amount for 3 month for 21 cats is 135 kilos of the food, and the total price will be 4635 UAH. This should significantly improve the health of the cats, prepare them for appropriate medical treatment, neutering and vaccination. And finally they’ll be ready to be taken by new owners.
