Nikita is not yet 4 years old, but in order to even get a little closer to the real childhood, he has already undergone many challenges on his way. The expectation of a new life is always exciting, but pregnancy was extremely difficult. The whole period mother was in the hospital, on the 20th week of pregnancy she underwent surgery, and because of the poor health of the baby, it was decided to have a cesarean section ahead of schedule. The newborn was very weak, without a sucking reflex.  

For a month, the boy was pipetted under the supervision of doctors. The condition of the child did not improve. At 4 months the suspected diagnosis was a type 1 SMA – this meant that Nikita would not live until his second birthday. 2 months of waiting for test results became a hell for the whole family. Fortunately, the diagnosis was not confirmed and the parents continued to look for opportunities to help their child. At the age of one, Nikita was taken to China for treatment, 4 months of intensive rehabilitation and the first victory – Nikita turned over! At 1.5 years - lying on his stomach, he could already hold his head and stand on outstretched arms. After the 2nd course of treatment – Nikita crawled. This was a miracle not only for parents, but also for medical staff. Leaving home, the boy could already stand y himself near the wall for up to 10 seconds. After the 3rd course of treatment, Nikita began to take the first steps.

Physically, the boy begins to catch up with peers, but speech did not appear. Parents were advised about tomato therapy. Today, thanks to UBB donors the baby has already completed several courses of tomato therapy at the Center for Brain Stimulation. With every course he takes there is a result, and this is happiness! Today, Nikita is already consciously responding to requests, began to repeat words in syllables, and began to chew on food. Every new result brings the family one step closer to the dream – to see the son in first grade! But they still need to invest a lot of efforts, work, time, so that the dream becomes a reality. Nikita is waiting for the next course of treatment at the clinic in early autumn, and his parents really hope for the help of people who care.
