Sports instead of the street

The most vulnerable category in any country is children who need help from society to solve their problems. In Ukraine, however, protection and assistance to children still remains problematic. And in recent times, given all the negative events and circumstances of the local world, it has become even more difficult. Most families, especially large, crisis, incomplete, as a rule, are in a difficult financial, psychological, emotional situation. Often children in such families leave their homes. In recent years, the number of children who are outdoors most of the time, including at night, has grown significantly. A new category of children, commonly referred to as "street children", has emerged. There has been a catastrophic increase in the number of children deprived of parental care. Of the 80,000 orphans deprived of parental care, only about 7% are biological, ie they do not actually have parents. The rest are children who became orphans with living parents. Some of these children go to live on the "street", and the street becomes their home.
Today, in almost every city, we can, unfortunately, see unnecessary and self-sufficient children and adolescents. Who are these children? First of all, these are homeless children - children who do not have a permanent place of residence due to the loss of parents, antisocial behavior of adults in the family; children expelled from their homes by their parents; neglected children - children who have a certain place of residence, but are forced to be on the street as a result of financial incapacity of guardians (relatives, grandparents), mental disorders of parents, indifference of the latter to the upbringing of children; runaway children from educational institutions - children who have suffered psychological, physical and sexual violence in boarding schools and shelters; runaway children from seemingly prosperous families, but with a high level of conflict, character pathologies, abnormalities in mental and personal development; children deprived of systematic parental care, outsiders of school groups, children with pronounced signs of difficult upbringing, prone to aimless pastime.
Such children need a lot of support, help from others.
This is what a significant part of our foundation's activity has been aimed at for many years, providing such wards with various assistance, and the attention of the social project "Sports instead of the street", which aims to attract street children, orphans and children deprived of parental care. from boarding schools studying at the local lyceum) to sports, forming a healthy lifestyle, responsible attitude to their own lives and health, by equipping them with a gym with exercise equipment and other sports equipment to interest teenagers and young people to spend time not on the street, with alcohol and drugs, but with health benefits, increasingly taking them off the streets and forming a responsible attitude to their own lives, health, which will have a huge positive impact on their present and future.
We already have some sports equipment and equipment for classes with children and adolescents, which will be conducted with them by trained volunteers. However, today we ask you to help raise funds for the purchase of equipment and necessary sports equipment, as well as some clothes and shoes for training. Thanks to our help and intervention in the fate of these children, who, unfortunately, have become unnecessary to their relatives or they are not able to take care of them and just take care of them, it can dramatically and positively affect the future choices of today's children and adolescents. in contrast to their families, will be able to lead a healthy, socially acceptable lifestyle, cope independently, be fully socialized and successful. This is guaranteed to give them a chance to be happier today and good, healthy prospects in the future.
