Veteran of labor is not enough money for medicine
Heart problems first began to bother Ivan Filimonovich 23 years ago. Then he was only 50 years old. His life was not cloudless and easy. Everything was done with hard work.
Ivan Filimonovich was born in a large family, his parents raised 9 children. Those were hard times. His mother worked on a collective farm, and the children grazed cows, went to the forest for mushrooms and berries, which they sold and lived from there. After finishing the 8th grade, Ivan entered the mechanization school, learned to be a tractor driver and went to work in the south of Ukraine. He served three years in the army and returned home. Subsequently, he got a job as a worker at the Gorodnitsky porcelain factory. He worked hard – at the furnace, where the process of firing products took place.
He met his future wife and moved to Vesnyanoe. Later he got a job at a sugar factory in Korets as an operator. Often his shifts fell out at night and did not coincide with the bus schedule, and the man had to walk home about ten kilometers on foot. This rhythm of work made itself felt and he went to work on a collective farm as a tractor driver.
It is not surprising that then, in 1997, Ivan Filimonovich had a microinfarction. The man was hospitalized, and the hospital suffered a massive heart attack. After six months of treatment, Ivan Filimonovich was given a disability group. For some time it was more or less.
"And then he fell seriously ill", says his wife, "in 2012, he underwent a mitral valve replacement. After 6 years, there was a blockage of blood vessels to the limbs. His leg turned black to the knee, we do not have vascular surgery and he was sent to Kiev. They put stents there. Two years later, the vessels clogged again and the stents were placed again...".
Now he is in the hospital in the department of anesthesiology and intensive care. He had a heart attack. The condition is serious. The whole family helps and supports. His pension, despite being a Labor Veteran, is not enough for medicine. "Now, in his declining years, one can only live and enjoy grandchildren", says Ivan Filimonovich's wife, "everything that he has is earned by honest labor". A man needs Plavix to keep his heart working. Ivan Filimovich is unable to buy it on his own at the expense of his pension.
