Saving childhood – mission is possible!

Eva fell to the floor and started crying, her mother tried to calm her down, but the wild fear in her eyes didn’t allow her to hear anything...
It was 2014, a week after our 6-year-old ward ran away from Luhansk with her mother. A plane flew over her new house, and she couldn’t understand that it was not there to shell.

And now, it’s 2022...
"I would really like the children to go to the camp, but they still wet their pants from fear", shares the mother of 5 children, to whom we offered to take them to the camp in the mountains. This family fled from Lysychansk with a blind shepherd dog and 5 children, the youngest of whom is suffering from oncology. They are in Lviv region now.

For 14 years, Zaporuka has been supporting families during the most difficult period of their lives. We try to preserve the fleeting years of our wards’ childhood even when complete darkness surrounds us.

Currently, the Edelweiss camp is taking place in the Carpathians, where children can relax, make new friends, and create good memories about nature, fun and hikes. Together with their partners, we have already sent 12 children from Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Luhansk regions. Currently, we want to send 6 more children from Kharkiv and Kherson regions there. In order to do this, we have to ask you to support us. The total cost of the tickets is 50,400 UAH!

The childhood shouldn’t be canceled because of the war, and it is up to us, the adults, to do whatever we can to preserve it!
