Every day, children with severe burns fight for a chance to live a pain-free life. Imagine that just one device can save a little life. The Venue ultrasound diagnostic system, together with additional equipment, will help doctors at St. Nicholas Children's Hospital to perform ultra-precise diagnostics, speed up treatment, and monitor children's recovery right at their bedside.
The St. Nicholas Children's Hospital is a unique medical centre, part of the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Centre. Every year, more than 40,000 children from all over Ukraine receive help here. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the hospital has become a real lifeline for more than 350 severely wounded children affected by the war. Today, it treats the most difficult cases, including children with mine-blast injuries, severe burns and the consequences of serious wounds. But there is a lack of essential equipment to ensure effective treatment. Due to the war, the workload on medical facilities has increased several times. The old equipment can no longer withstand the pace of work. Doctors critically need new devices to provide timely treatment to young patients.
That is why, as part of the Children's Hope's great mission, we are collecting money for the Venue ultrasound diagnostic system, which allows for accurate diagnostics in the operating room, intensive care unit or anywhere in the hospital. It helps to: identify the depth of tissue damage; determine the need for surgery; monitor the condition of patients before and after interventions; save precious time that can save a child's life.
The fundraising goal is UAH 270,000, which will allow us to buy two sectoral sensors and fully equip the Venue ultrasound system. This gear will save the lives of children with the most severe burns who are being treated at the only third-level care centre in the western regions of Ukraine.
The collection period is until 31 December iclusive.
