Адвент-календар від The Body School та партнерів
The Body School service and its partners have created a charity Advent calendar "25 Days of Self-Care". https://thebody.school/advent/
All the funds raised will be used to purchase equipment for the rehabilitation of the military, where wounded defenders are treated.
A multidisciplinary rehabilitation team has been set up at the Regional Clinical Centre for Neurosurgery and Neurology of the Transcarpathian Regional Council (Uzhhorod):
3 doctors of physical and rehabilitation medicine
2 neurologists
3 neurosurgeons
4 physiotherapists
2 occupational therapists
2 psychologists
2 speech therapists
The team specialises in the medical rehabilitation of people with nervous system and musculoskeletal disorders. Since 2022, the team has been treating and rehabilitating military personnel, emergency workers and civilians who sustained injuries of varying severity as a result of hostilities or shelling (including rocket attacks), including mine-blast and traumatic brain injuries with musculoskeletal or nervous system damage, fractures, etc. On average, about 2,000 patients are treated here per month.
However, to provide complete and effective medical care, the facility needs passive rehabilitation devices for the knee and hip joints, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
These devices are designed for passive rehabilitation of the patient, used in cases where the patient cannot move their limbs on their own, but the use of such devices is necessary to prevent contractures. The devices can be used with both sitting and lying patients. The presence of a wired control panel allows the patient to start and stop the therapy session independently. This control allows the patient to relax the arm muscles, which has a favourable effect on the effectiveness of the treatment. Precise adjustment of the amplitude of movements in the joint allows the patient to feel virtually no pain during joint development. From session to session, the range of motion is gradually increased until the joint function is fully restored. There are not enough of these devices available.
There is also a need for the 06E arm rehabilitation device - it uses robotic exoskeleton technology and combines passive and active training. This means that the patient tries to perform movements partially independently, which is the second stage of recovery. This approach helps to fully restore the arm's function. The device is designed to restore mobility of the finger joints for patients with dysfunction of finger movement after injuries. In fact, it is a glove that combines flexible robotics and neurology technologies to provide daily rehabilitation treatment. The centre does not have this device at all.
Due to the ongoing hostilities, thousands of civilians, military and emergency services personnel suffer injuries of varying severity every day. Groups who have suffered nervous system injuries, traumatic brain injuries, musculoskeletal or spinal injuries need specific treatment and a full rehabilitation course to restore their lost functions. This directly affects their mobility, ability to work, social adaptation, physical activity, well-being and future life in general.
