I will live without a bunch of gifts, but people without oxygen will not. Please give me money as a birthday present and I will pay part of the bill for oxygen concentrators. I don't think there are gifts that make more sense than this.
Open Palms Charitable Fund launched an oxygen service long before the pandemic. Initially, the wards were mostly people with incurable cancer with tumors or metastases in the lungs. The oxygen concentrators saved them from shortness of breath and prolonged their lives.
In 2020, it turned out that any of us may need an oxygen concentrator, because it is almost impossible to predict who will have a severe coronavirus. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the fund has repeatedly zeroed accounts for ordering new batches of oxygen concentrators. The last ordered devices have not been paid yet. Then, in March, all that mattered was to help the maximum number of people. Now it is important to settle all old debts. After all, the next wave is a new wave and the fund must be ready.
