I am Sergei and here is my story: the topic of "congenital pathologies" is known to me personally, since I was born with a double heart defect, and there could be no question of running. 💔
I didn't know how to run ... From the age of 3 I dreamed that I was accelerating and quickly rushing on the asphalt, and the wind develops my hair from my speed, but these were just dreams ... my cherished dream .... At the age of 25, I underwent heart surgery, and a new stage of my life began! 🌟
I told everyone about my dream: doctors, nurses, orderlies ... And when the operation was over and I opened my eyes, the first thing the surgeon told me was the words from the Bible in his interpretation: "Get up, take your bed and run!" Who am I not to listen to him?
I started slowly and difficult, meter by meter, every new 100 meters was like a holiday.
Now I run on a regular basis, on average 30-40 km a week, I have run about 15 half marathons and one ultra trail 62 km. 🏃♂️
In October, I will take part in a full marathon for the first time! I will run along with the Noviy Svit Odesa charity foundation in support of children with congenital heart pathologies. ❤️
And I want to run not for myself and my victory, but I want some day, some boy with a wounded heart, like mine, to also be able to run on the asphalt and feel the wind blowing at his face at speed. 🏃♂️💨
