My name is Svetlana Marfutina and I want to share my story:
Back in 2014, running thoroughly and firmly became a part of my life (a new discovery, a hobby), when I had to say goodbye to Donetsk and start everything from scratch in Kiev.
Over the 7 years of my sports career, many medals, cups for prizes, photographs and fond memories of competitions and wonderful people whom I met through athletics have appeared in my collection. 🙋🏼♀
One chilly November day, my friend saw a dog soaking lonely in the rain ... he could not leave him, and I volunteered to shelter the dog for a short while ... since then Sirko and I have become devoted friends and running partners. Then, more than two years ago, I could not have imagined that fate would give me a dog, with whom we would become one team !!! 🤗
And even if in 2019 in Berlin I received a medal for participating in the marathon, we were preparing for this event together. Now our training is aimed at participating in the half marathon, which will be held in Madrid. I am sure that Sirko would be ready to share with me participation in many races (for example, the Chornogor trail in the Carpathians), but so far he took part only in the Dog Chow Run for dogs. 🐕
Now I would like to support the project "On the way to a healthy heart" (from the charity foundation "Noviy svit Odessa"), so that children with pathologies have the opportunity to receive qualified medical care and live a full life. It is important to notice those who really need help!
