On 16 May 2024, Paladiy Emma, born in 2023, from the Lviv region, underwent surgery.
Emma is now a little over a year old. The girl's heart defect was discovered at 2 weeks old, when her parents decided to check their daughter's health and make sure she was healthy. After consulting with a cardiologist, Emma was scheduled to undergo an ultrasound every 3 months to monitor the dynamics. There was a chance that the defect would close on its own by the time she was a year old. After the girl turned a year old, another ultrasound revealed that the duct had increased by 1 mm and there was no point in waiting for the duct to close without surgery. The doctors recommended the operation as soon as possible.
Only the father works in the family, and the mother is on maternity leave. The family is unable to raise funds for the purchase of an occluder on their own.
