CO "CF "Unbroken"

The city of Lviv, being at a distance from the conflict line, turned into a large humanitarian hub through which millions of Ukrainians escaped the war. Currently, there are 150,000 internally displaced persons in Lviv. Hospitals in our city received more than 13,000 wounded civilians and soldiers. This prompted us to launch an unprecedented project – building the UNBROKEN ecosystem of humanity. With the help of numerous Ukrainian and international partners, we have already opened a new rehabilitation center, multiplied the possibilities for prosthetics, taken care of mental health, and built a long-term support system for war victims, including social housing and reintegration programs. The UNBROKEN ecosystem is important not only for Lviv but also for the whole of Ukraine because most of the patients are not residents of our region. In the future, UNBROKEN has the potential to become a model for restoring human potential in other cities and regions of Ukraine.

The National Rehabilitation Center "Unbroken" is a unique place where adults and children affected by the war receive comprehensive qualified medical care. These are emergency medical care, reconstructive surgery, orthopedics, and robotic prosthetics. Victims are not only fitted with prostheses, they are manufactured here. In addition, the Center deals with physical, psychological and psychosocial rehabilitation of injured military personnel and civilians. All patients’care is provided free of charge.

The main task of the "Unbroken" foundation is to ensure that Ukrainians are treated at home in Ukraine and do not seek help abroad or in various medical institutions. For this, it is necessary to ensure the material and technical base, the equipment and the availability of state-of-the-art medical equipment within the walls of the hospital, where motivated medical personnel save the lives of victims around the clock. Also, one of the tasks is the professional development of doctors and nurses. That is why much attention is paid to the organization of educational programs, exchange of experience, internships, and the arrival of colleagues from abroad.

The foundation's activities are based on accountability, transparency, responsibility and involvement of citizens from all over the world in order to achieve the main goal – access of every Ukrainian to modern medicine and the guarantee of receiving qualified care in their country.
