Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Ukraine was established in 2016 as a Chapter of Ronald McDonald House Charities. In 65 coun-tries and regions around the world, RMHC enables, facilitates and supports family-centered care to ensure the patient’s family members are fully involved with health care providers to make informed decisions about the health care and support services their child receives.
Since inception, RMHC Ukraine has developed several Ronald McDonald Family Room programs in Ukrainian hospitals.
The Family Room is a special place in the hospital, where parents and relatives of the children patients can rest, recharge, talk, and play with their child, as well as satisfy their basic hygiene, sleep, and nutritional needs. So far, Family Room programs have been set up in five Ukrainian hospitals: OKHMAD-YT Lviv, Vinnytsia Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, Sumy Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, Kharkiv Regional Children's Clinical Hospi-tal, and OKHMADYT Kyiv.
Over the four years of their existence, 70,000 visitors have been served by RMHC Ukraine’s Ronald McDonald Family Room programs.
