Over 18 years aid has been distributed to approx. 200 orphanages. New Generation was incorporated in Ukraine in 2006, with the aim of broadening our activities and including Ukrainian donors in our activities. On July 1st, 2010, the Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, H.E. Daniel Caron, awarded New Generation with an award for the organisation's significant contribution to the development of Canadian-Ukrainian bilateral relations. «It is an honour for me to present this first award to New Generation for its continuous contributions to improve the welfare of children, who live in very difficult conditions», stated the Ambassador in making the award.
In 2010, 335 orphans took part in summer and winter camps organized by New Generation, including children with disabilities. Sixteen orphans received scholarships to continue their studies at post-secondary educational institutions (the programme is funded by the Children of Chornobyl Canadian Fund). Students from 30 orphanages in the Kherson, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions took part in an educational programme «Our health is in our hands», during which they learned about the importance of personal health, prevention of unwanted pregnancies, AIDS and STD awareness, and anti-human trafficking. The programme was funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Canada). With the assistance of the Gaidai family, New Generation commenced a programme «Colour My Life».
Their are no «other» children! We have work to do! Let's help orphans together!
