17.07.2025 Alisa Tsukalenko underwent surgery

Alisa Tsukalenko, born on September 24, 2009, from Cherkasy, is one of thousands of children in Ukraine born with congenital heart disease. Her story began when she was 7 months old, when doctors first diagnosed an open arterial duct. Back then, there was still hope that it could close on its own. But years passed, and the problem remained. The girl was examined every year - first at Okhmatdyt, then at the Amosov Institute. In the spring of 2025, a cardiac surgeon confirmed that it was impossible to wait any longer, and surgery was needed.
However, the cost of the implant is an unbearable burden for the family. Alisa's mother is raising her alone, her father has long since gone abroad and provides little support for his daughter. Their salary is barely enough for the most basic necessities. But it was impossible to give up the chance for a healthy heart.
That's why we came together and, thanks to Vodafone Ukraine, on July 17, 2025, Alisa underwent a modern endovascular surgery - without cuts and scars, with a quick recovery and a new rhythm of life.
Every year in Ukraine, about 3,500 children are born with congenital heart disease. And for many of them, the only chance for life is this kind of surgery.
We are grateful to Vodafone Ukraine for their trust and the Good Deed as a Gift charity program, thanks to which children receive not just treatment - they get a future.
The cost of the implant: 47,000 UAH.
