Preterm babies in Khmelnytsky are now under reliable supervision - thanks to Vodafone Ukraine
Every year, thousands of babies in Ukraine are born too early - weighing as little as 500 grams. They cannot breathe, keep warm or control their heartbeat on their own. Their first days are a struggle for every breath, every heartbeat. And not a single second should be lost in this struggle.
That's why we have implemented another crucial stage of our project - we have transferred a modern patient monitor PVM-4763 to the Khmelnytsky City Perinatal Center. This was made possible thanks to the charitable support of the mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine.
The monitor allows doctors to:
- monitor the heart rate (thanks to an ECG cable and electrodes);
- measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂ sensor);
- monitor blood pressure (cuffs for babies);
- monitor body temperature (temperature sensor).
Such equipment is critically important in the intensive care unit, as it allows for an immediate response to threatening changes in the condition of babies. There is no time for delay in the intensive care unit - every second can be crucial.
In times of war, when the number of preterm births is increasing and doctors are working in difficult conditions, support for such projects is a real lifeline.
We sincerely thank Vodafone Ukraine for its constant care, good deeds and contribution to the healthy future of the youngest Ukrainians.
