News March 2025

Sofia is a purposeful, persistent and sociable girl. For the last 3 years, she has been practicing judo and has won many cups and awards. Sonia also loves to walk with her dog Bona.

At the age of 4.5, Sofia was diagnosed with diabetes. She spent many days in intensive care. Due to sharp and strong sugar spikes, she had to pierce her fingers every hour, her wounds hurt and did not have time to heal.

Then her parents bought Freestyle Libre 2 sensors, which reduced the number of punctures by several times. Since then, Sonya has been using them constantly. The sensors measure blood glucose levels every minute; the data is sent to her mother and father's phones via Bluetooth. One sensor costs UAH 2,192, and unfortunately, it works for only 14 days.

Sofia injects insulin 4-6 times a day using a syringe pen and needles. They cost 6,900 UAH.

Sonia's glucose levels are very unstable and fluctuate from 1.9 to 22. Constant use of the sensor prevents hypo- and hyperglycaemia, which minimises possible complications from the eyesight, kidneys and heart.

Dear friends, please support our collection so that Sofia can use the sensors and syringe pen all year round without worrying about her health!
