Nazariy has always been an active child: he was fond of swimming and playing computer games, spoke fluent English and dreamed of visiting Japan.

His life changed dramatically in the autumn of 2024. One day in September, Nazariy's temperature rose sharply. After 3 days his condition seemed to improve, he even started playing with his sister Nastia. But the next day, the boy's father came to his room and found his son convulsing.

Doctors at Ternopil Regional Hospital spent two months trying to stop the seizures. On the third day, due to breathing problems, Nazariy was fitted with a tracheostomy. He can't eat on his own - his food has to be crushed and administered through a tube.

At the same time, he was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, a disease in which the immune system attacks brain cells, perceiving them as foreign. Nazariy was prescribed Bioven, which helps to stop the destructive process and gives the brain the opportunity to recover.
