The first phase of the project has been completed.

Our project initiative is being implemented by the Caritas Berdychiv UGCC in the format of regular culinary workshops for children and teenagers. During these sessions, participants, together with volunteers, prepare simple and nutritious meals. After cooking, the children take part in packaging, presenting, and delivering the prepared meals to people with disabilities and elderly individuals living alone.

The project “Fostering Mercy through Culinary Creativity” was launched on the platform of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange (dobro.ua) in August 2025. Due to the need for food supplies to conduct the workshops, we requested the transfer of the collected funds as of January 2026, in accordance with our letter No. 1 dated January 8, 2026. Thanks to the funds received, we were able to actively implement the culinary workshop initiative for children and teenagers from January to April 2026. Social workers conducted sessions twice a week, during which participants not only learned how to cook but also took part in acts of kindness.

During this period, two social workers conducted 24 workshops, involving 45 children. The prepared food, together with hot meals, was distributed to people who are unable to provide for themselves — elderly individuals living alone and people with disabilities.

This initiative has become not only a response to the basic needs of vulnerable individuals but also an important step in educating the younger generation in the spirit of mercy, solidarity, and responsibility for others.
