Goodness is stronger than diagnosis!
The story of our foster family, Dmitry Sklyar and his daughters, has had an amazing continuation. Ten years ago, six-year-old Maria fell ill with cancer, and her older sister Victoria became her donor and saved her sister's life with the help of thousands of donors on dobro.ua.
Today, both girls live in Germany: Victoria works in the oncology department of a German hospital, and Maria studies at a gymnasium and is doing an internship at the same institution.
Their father, Dmytro, who did everything possible to save his daughter, was diagnosed with cancer himself last year and underwent several oncological operations. Despite numerous trials, the man did not give up on his mission to help others. He recently dedicated his birthday to wounded defenders suffering from the effects of their injuries as part of the Nezlamni Foundation's Heroes Without Pain initiative.
His life credo, “It is better to help than to need help,” is an example of strength of spirit that inspires many. Dmytro shows that even in the most difficult times, it is important to remain open to helping others.

Thank you very much, Dmytro, for your boundless compassion and support. We wish you strength and health!
