May was fruitful for dobro.ua in terms of charitable initiatives and interesting collaborations with the support of socially responsible businesses. In May, we implemented a total of 70 charitable projects, and 690 beneficiaries received assistance. We are pleased to report incredible results.
The project ‘Children's Hope: Help to Kharkiv ODKL.Onco3’, dobro.ua.
Within the framework of the Children's Hope charity program, we are donating an electroencephalograph to the Kharkiv Regional Children's Clinical Hospital. This device will allow the team of doctors to examine the electrical activity of the brain, detect changes in brain activity in time, and plan individual treatment and rehabilitation plans. Despite the constant shelling of the city, doctors continue to provide round-the-clock medical care to children in Kharkiv and the region. Every year, more than 550 young patients are treated at the institution. The total amount of charitable assistance provided to the hospital is UAH 350 thousand.
Project “Light of Easter”, CO ‘Let's Help’.
The Tarashchansky Geriatric Nursing Home is home to 149 people - the elderly and people with disabilities, those who have lost their families or are unable to take care of themselves. In April, thanks to the joint efforts of the Let's Help Charity Foundation and the Academy of Advanced Aesthetics team, all residents of the facility received Easter gift sets; the leisure room was equipped with a projector and screen so that the elderly could watch movies together; two electric hot water heaters were purchased for the showers. This Easter reminded the residents of the nursing home that they are not alone. That there are those who remember and support them. The project was implemented thanks to charitable assistance in the amount of UAH 182,300 from the Academy of Advanced Aesthetics.

Project “Strong Heart - Happy Childhood”, CF ‘Hearts of the Future’.
The Shakhnenko family are IDPs from Kramatorsk. Pavlo was born in Poltava, and from the very first days doctors noticed problems in his heart. At the age of one, the boy was diagnosed with congenital heart disease, an open arterial duct. The cost of the implant was unaffordable for a single parent working in a frontline city and a mother on maternity leave. Thanks to Vodafone Ukraine subscribers and the professional team of the Amosov Institute, little Pavlo got a chance for life. Now his heart is working properly.
In total, 160 children from low-income Ukrainian families received help and a chance for a full life thanks to the Vodafone charity program “A Good Deed as a Gift”. The first surgery under the program was performed in September 2011.
