Zaborona Media is an independent non-news publication about social trends and culture in the post-socialist countries of Eastern Europe.

We focus on the context of current events and talk about social challenges, freedoms and security boundaries, about people who defend basic rights and change the idea of ​​how the world can work.

The fence was founded in 2018 in Kiev by Ukrainian journalists Katerina Sergatskova and Roman Stepanovich. Initially, the publication talked about human rights violations in Ukraine and conservative trends in society. Today, Zaborona is better known for its deep reporting, investigations, documentary video projects, comics and a conceptual approach to storytelling.
