It is necessary to react quickly - when a patient with cystic fibrosis has a broken inhaler, there is very little time to restore it and return it to the patient, because for him this device is not just important, but vital. It is almost impossible to cough up thick sputum from the lungs without inhalations, it becomes harder to breathe literally every hour. 

Some people do 2-4 inhalations per day, while the others need 10-15 procedures during the exacerbation period,  because antibiotics are added. It is clear that as any other equipment, spare parts wear out from intensive daily use. But there is no other way to treat this disease: only regular and lifelong therapy. Every month we get the requests to help with the inhaler, which has stopped working, because on the balance sheet of the fund there are almost 300 devices that are used daily by our wards - children and young boys and girls with cystic fibrosis. 

In case of breakage, it is possible to buy a new inhaler, which costs now UAH 6,500, or repair the old one, paying for the service approximately UAH 1,200-1,400, and use it further for several years. In consultation with the masters, we make decisions for each single  case together. If it is more profitable to give the inhaler to the service - we do so, because every hryvnia is important now. If the checkup shows that the device has worked out its resource and the replacement of some parts doesn't give a significant improvement for a long time, only then it is a question of the complete replacement of the inhaler with a new one. 

So, in this project, we ask you to help in an extremely important and good case – to raise money so the fund could pay for the  repair of inhalers. You can't leave our boys and girls without quick assistance for the sake of clear breathing!
