6-month-old Zlata needs liver transplantation

This little princess’ name is Zlata. The girl came to Lviv having yellow eyes and yellow skin, stomach was inflated like a balloon, which means only one – the child is suffering from the congenital malformation of liver. Zlata is only 6 months old and there is a question whether she will manage to survive. Currently the child is at the Lviv Children's Hospital were doctors are providing care before the transplantation in Poland and her mother Yana will be a donor. The cost of Zlata’s life is – 295 000 PLN (2 227 250 UAH).

This is the cost of the medical expenses that Warsaw hospital invoiced the Kovalenko’s. Human life is priceless, but Zlata needs this amount within a month since she is in a critical condition.

Poor child’s life story, unfortunately, is filled with regret and despair, sleepless nights and distressing days. As soon as child’s condition was more or less stable the family moved to Lviv were doctors are monitoring her and mother Yana is preparing to become a donor for her child. Both Zlata and her mother Yana have only one month and urgent financial assistance is of high priority!

We raise a part of the necessary amount of money for liver transplantation for Zlata.

Yana is a single mother and she has to endure all the hardships of most concern for the sick daughter.

"At the moment, as you first feel that you are not alone, you overwhelmed with happiness, and you already start planning your life together beforehand. He is born? What is the name dates? Which kindergarten, school, university will your baby. Dream that he will be strong, smart, beautiful and, most importantly, healthy.

I think all moms are. I am not an exception.

Waiting glad hoped. However ultrasound showed that the daughter reverse arrangement of internal organs – popularly called "mirror", but doctors said that it is not scary, just my daughter is special.

When the baby was born, we could not get enough of it. It was small though, but it is strong and healthy, sleep well, eat well, was calm and playful. We were discharged from the hospital with good performance.

Once home, we did not forget to visit the local pediatrician. Time passed all honey. Reviews and 1.5 months of repeated ultrasound, which abnormalities were found.

Soon, doctor at the next review drew attention to the small yellowing of the skin, said it was likely zhovtushka normal newborns prescribed procedures, which we went almost a month. However zhovtushka not passed, the girl was capricious and began to turn yellow sclera of the eye. With suspected hepatitis we were sent for consultation to the regional hospital. From there, we are no longer produced.

Where did Zlata began with hepatitis perfectly healthy parents, we just could not explain. Condition daughter deteriorated performance bilirubin were very high. Regular ultrasound showed a significant increase in liver and decrease gallbladder. Liver biopsy confirmed hepatitis and partial atresia of intrahepatic bile ducts.

Doctors said after the investigation, which is caused hepatitis atresia that this anomaly is very rare and develops in 1 trimester of fetal development that the girl was born with underdeveloped gallbladder and bile ducts. The only treatment option for this disease is a liver transplant to be done before 6 months because otherwise my child will not live up to 2 years.

I really can not understand why this innate, as doctors say, pathology to be seen on ultrasound in the past that because of the "mirror" feature of my daughter, her ultrasound done carefully and repeatedly.

Today we are treating in Lviv, 6 months have passed, and there was no transplant. My little girl what time the more capricious and not calm. It is very difficult, but we keep. I get ready to donate to Zlata, but unfortunately this is not enough. "
