Pirozhkov Andryusha already was not the same as all children in the first hours of his life. Myelocele was rupturing during childbirth of Andryusha. The baby had been transferred to the ward for seriously ill children and "pilgrimage along the thorny path" began for all members of a large family: four children, Mom and Dad.

Due to open spinal cord membranes any, the most simple infection that a healthy organism even may not feel, getting to the wound of Andryusha, could cause meningitis or death. On the tenth day, thanks, perhaps, a miracle, the family turned up in Kiev. Andryusha was operated in Institute of Neurosurgery. All these six hours that operation has been lasted were the most terrible. The family prayed for the smallest and most beloved little man. During the operation the spinal roots which were included in this myelocele were excised, and Andryusha did not feel the legs and could not walk.

Again, by chance, but, as you know, there are no happenstances, they learned about the doctor's clinic Bersenev. The first results of treatment in Dr. Bersenev was that Andrei very quickly begin to speak. Sensitivity in the legs appears gradually . Andrew really wants to begin to walk with his feet, he always repeats: "When I grow up, I'll walk." After the next courses Andryusha became more active, he has more powers to do his own not strong, weak, similar to the steps, movements.

With the help of orthoses, which strengthen the ankle, Andryusha stays on legs and walks with support. Now Andrey is 11 years old. From the age of seven, Andrey is engaged in swimming. Already he has got a certificates for the win of 3rd and 4th places in regional competitions in the group "Invasport". At the sports contest "Believe in yourself" he took the first place at a distance of 50 m on the back, as well as the first place at a distance of 50 m by freestyle and received a medals. He is unspeakably happy with his achievements.

Andryusha is studying in an ordinary school. In the school he moves with the help of go-carts. It is so hard for him to go upstairs to the second floor. Andrew is very sociable and communicable boy. Тogether with the "Charity Fund Dr. Bersenev ", with an excellent doctors of the Clinic Dr. Bersenev and with the help of trainers for swimming, Andryusha by the slow, but by the sure steps goes to his dream.

Earlier on the UBB we had already collected funds for Bogdanov. You can see the previous project at the link.
