Ania dreams of going outside

After Covid-19 Ania has been in hospital for more than a month. Combined with a severe genetic diagnosis – cystic fibrosis – the virus has caused a severe complication in the already affected lungs. Now the girl can't even walk: she immediately starts to suffocate. 

There is a nineteen-year old girl in this story who plans to become a pharmacist and has even entered the institution of her dreams. And there is a congenital disease that interferes with free breathing and digestion. Following all the hospital prescriptions, such as daily inhalations, sterilization of equipment, physiotherapy, handfuls of pills and regular hospitalizations – Ania and her mom learned to control the situation with cystic fibrosis. When the girl got the measles in 2018, doctors gave her little chance of recovery, but after a month and a half of intensive care she got better.

A new test came at the end of 2020: despite all the safety measures of the family, Ania caught the coronavirus. In the most difficult period, saturation was critical – 76. Now, after the medical treatment, three procedures of bronchoscopy (suction of purulent secretions from the bronchi) and daily oxygen therapy, the rate rose to 94 at rest. However, as soon as Ania goes outside, the oxygen level drops to 86 and the girl suffocates. In addition, a bacterium has settled in Ania's lungs, destroying them from inside. 

To get the girl out of this state, we ask for your help in purchasing for her a new inhaler with sets of tubes and cups and a sterilizer to disinfect it all and prevent new bacteria from entering the lungs. Ania now uses an old inhaler that does not work at full capacity, and sterilization is done by boiling in a pan. Ania is a very strong girl, she dreams of coming back to life and starting to walk. She won't cope without our support.
