Anna Gvozdiar: "I will be running to express my gratitude to a hero"

Anna Gvozdiar is a Military Hospital volunteer, a brave girl who heped soldiers at the frontline. Life is a puzzle of what we have and what we aim for. A lot depends on our own effort, but sometimes we need just a little help in order to reach the top. I know, that Oleksiy has enough frotitude and persistence to work and help others, but with a new prosthesis he will be able to do sports and have new achievements. We can do it together!

Life is a puzzle of what we have and what we aim for. A lot depends on our own effort, but sometimes we need just a little help in order to reach the top. I know, that Oleksiy has enough frotitude and persistence to work and help others, but with a new prosthesis he will be able to do sports and have new achievements. We can do it together!

In Ukraine the war has reached Oleksiy for the second time. When a little Armenian boy was 7 years old the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan started. Oleksiy’s parents decided to escape Nagorno-Karabakh, as far away from the war as they could. They couldn’t imagine then that years later their sun would take up arms. Oleksiy came to the military registration office of his free will because he couldn’t stay aside. He was in the 55 artillery brigade. He was injured in the Battle of Ilovaisk and lost his leg during the fire of military positions. But his life didn’t end with his injury as in the hospital he met his future wife Olena, a volunteer. Now they are working, dreaming and making plans for the future together.

This year on the 9th of April on the Kyiv Half Marathon a special charity 2km race “The Victors” will be held. Veterans with disabilities, paralympians and other people willing to donate for the sport prosthesis for Oleksiy will take part in the marathon.

I will take part in this charity race with pleasure in order to help raise money for the sport prosthesis for ATO veteran Oleksiy.
