Art therapy for orphans. 2

Children in the Children's Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of CF "Aspern" did not have an easy life, almost all of them faced physical or psychological violence, lived in difficult conditions, were responsible for their own lives, often just tried to survive in a world where their family didn’t care for them. Children come to us with their fears, worries, anxious, frightened, reserved and with a great distrust of the whole world.

The psychologist of the Children's Center of CF "Aspern" works with childhood trauma received in families. At the same time, taking into account the war, children have new stress accumulations appeared due to air alarms, sirens, explosions, forced long-term stays in shelters, sleeping in bomb shelters.

All this complicates the condition of children. Therefore, the psychologist uses various methods to teach stress resistance in his work. One is Art therapy, which includes such methods as: sand therapy, isotherapy (visual arts), fairy-tale therapy, dance/movement therapy.

Art therapy has a positive effect on the condition of children: it helps to reduce the level of anxiety, stabilizes the emotional state, teaches to recognize emotions and work with them, increases self-esteem and helps to realize one's strengths and capabilities. As a result, children become calmer, more stress-resistant, more open to communication, positive, with a correct vision of the world and a decent model of behavior.

Thanks to your financial support of our project, 12 children who live 24 hours a day in our Social and Psychological Rehabilitation Center aa well as children who come to us but do not live in the Center will be able to attend art therapy classes with a psychologist in the equipped office.
