Artem lost dad, but can still regain his hearing
Artem grew up as a smart, kind boy. He played like everyone else, ran like everyone else, but spoke a little worse than his peers. The parents agreed that the child would start attending classes with a speech therapist at kindergarten. One day, the mother began to notice that the son did not answer the questions that were asked to him, and also began to look at the lips when the person was talking.
"We went to the doctors for a year to find out what was wrong with our child," says mother Marina, "Everyone said to drip the nose and everything will go away. Problems with pronunciation? – Go to a speech therapist. To the answer that we are visiting a speech therapist, they heard - ah-ah-ah, and speak out".
Finally, the parents found a doctor who did a full examination, and they heard the verdict: "Hearing aids". This news was simply stunning, I did not want to believe it. After all, my mother did everything to give birth to a healthy child. How could this happen? But when the doctors put hearing aids on the boy, and he heard the rustling of shoes, the reaction was immediate: "Mom, what is this?". His eyes widened with curiosity, and his mother's with tears.
It turns out that the disease caught up in the maternity hospital at birth, but, unfortunately, the parents were able to notice it only a few years later.
"It is a great happiness for us that Artem can hear at all and says that only half of the nerve endings in the auricle have died," but for a full-fledged life and life in society, the child needs expensive hearing aids. Artemko loves music and singing, but unfortunately he can't practice them now, as he has hearing loss. While studying at school, you need to gain knowledge, but it is quite difficult to understand something in the classroom, and you need to correct your pronunciation.
On February 24, when the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation began in Ukraine, Mom and Artemko escaped by fleeing their town in the Kyiv region to a safer place, while their dad stayed to defend the home and joined the ranks of the Military Intelligence Service. He was the commander of the department.
Artem was always the first to run to all his relatives at the sound of a siren and say "Everyone to the cellar. Siren!". The first one stood dressed and with a shoulder bag behind his back. Mother and Artem decided not to go abroad, because they did not want to leave their father. They helped him and his brothers in every possible way. Sometimes they wove nets, then they looked for equipment, bulletproof vests, professional boots, night vision equipment and a lot of other things.
"When dad died, Artem grew up a lot. At one point. His father told him to protect his mother, so he took responsibility as a grown man. He promised dad at the cemetery that he would protect me and that he would not worry. Every evening we light a candle for dad and read prayers for dad".
Now Artemko has only his mother left. Maryna's mother's dream is very simple and undemanding, that her boy be like everyone else, that he hears. The boy at a young age has experienced the greatest irreversible loss that a person can experience, but he still has the opportunity to regain his hearing. Help Artemko hear!
