Autism is different for everyone...

Sergii was born into a family where his appearance was expected for a long 14 years, so it was a real miracle! The birth was very difficult, it lasted 16 hours, after which my mother and Sergii ended up in intensive care, but, fortunately, everything worked out. Parents could not get enough of their son until they began to notice that he was lagging behind in development. Then they sounded the alarm. 

As the boy's mother recalls: "The son suddenly lost eye contact, stopped responding to his name, playing with toys, smiling and being interested in his peers, and never began to speak...". When Sergii was a year and 8 months old, his parents began to seek help from various specialists. In 2020, after a series of examinations to identify the reasons for the boy's special behavior and rehabilitation, he was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, cognitive epileptiform disintegration, a variant of Landau-Kleffner syndrome, and delayed psycho-speech development. 

Little Sergii was assigned a disability, was prescribed expensive drug treatment, additional examination (a set of laboratory tests) and control night video EEG monitoring, classes with a speech therapist, defectologist and rehabilitation therapists. Unfortunately, Sergii still does not speak, does not always understand the speech addressed and needs constant care. 

Sergii is the only hope of this family, the meaning of their life, the only support. The sum for the treatment of their son is too heavy for their family, Sergii's mother also has a disability, only the father works in the family... During all this time of the struggle for the boy's health, all the family's savings have dried up. And there is still such a long road to recovery.
