Olenka was born the third child in a large family diagnosed with Down syndrome. She gave birth by cesarean section. Immediately after the birth, the newborn was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension of newborns, moderate jaundice, hypoxic-ischemic central nervous system damage and movement disorder syndrome. Later, she was diagnosed with a delay in psycho-speech and motor development.
Now the girl walks, but does not speak and does not serve herself. We would like to emphasize that even with such complex disorders, the parents never gave up and constantly worked in all possible directions, looking for the slightest opportunity to help their child. The main goal of the family is, of course, the development of their daughter's speech and self-care skills, because every child, whether healthy or with special needs, has the right to life. Therefore, Olenka desperately needs funds for systematic rehabilitation, as the visible progress in the girl's development encourages the whole family to keep going and move forward with optimism and hope. "And our daughter's small victories give us incredible hope every day that with each step we are all moving in the right direction," says Olena's mother.
