I hope without hope...
The mother of seven-year-old Vadim has signed with both hands under these words of the famous poetess, as she hopes for the miracle and struggles against a terrible cerebral palsy diagnosis every day, since his birth... Although nothing foreshadowed troubles: the boy was born at 40-th week of pregnancy, the doctors didn’t predict any problems, but something went wrong. The baby’s umbilical cord wrapped around him several times and he stayed without oxygen for a long time.
He was, in fact, forced out and looked like a lifeless child of an awful purple color. The kid was immediately taken from his mother to the resuscitation department. At this place he has been in a coma for two weeks, being connected to the artificial lung ventilation apparatus. The doctors did not believe in his recovery and life as a whole. However, the boy survived! It seemed all hardships are behind. But in a year the kid was diagnosed as cerebral palsy. “Nothing will come of it, so accept it and abandon him. Give birth to another child, why are you clinging to this vegetable?” the doctors said to his mother all together.
But the fearless mother did not listen to anyone and believed that with God's power life will return to normal, as her baby has survived!
Now the mother and her little child have been struggling against cerebral palsy for seven years. It is courageous of them not to lose a glimmer of hope, they only become stronger, day in, day out. And above all is that Vadim gets better! He started to hold his head with more confidence, to handle his hands a little, to understand speaking to him. He even goes to school (homeschooling) and he likes it.
Vadim is a very strong-willed, cheerful boy. However, the family needs financial aid for future treatment. Only kind and merciful people can give a hope to the mother and her son for life!
