Lack of money can kill Evelina's dream
Evelina has almost turned her five yet. The life story of this cute girl started in April 2016. Evelina is an early bird who came in life too early from her mother's tummy. The six-month-old baby of 870 mm weight and 35 cm height frightened the doctors of the maternity hospital. No one knew what would happen to the baby; whether would she cope with this and whether would she be able to live a full life in the future. There were far more questions than answers. At that time
Evelina was gaining weight and discovering the world around her. Now the girl weighs 11 kilograms, and her height reaches almost a meter. The child is somewhat retarded in physical development and has a number of comorbidities, in partcular cerebral palsy, liver hepatoblastoma, oncology.
Evelina is a cheerful and very active child. She suffers from the fact that she cannot fully move in space. The girl's parents and older brothers are worried about this. The family sees the potential of the child and makes every effort to provide timely rehabilitation courses for Evelina, which help her a lot. However, now the family has a very difficult financial situation, which threatens the further treatment of the girl.
“We are no longer able to pay for Evelina's rehabilitation on our own. Due to my child's illness, I can't get a job, I have to be with her all the time. Our father is a member of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and has a second disability group. Together we are raising two older sons. The husband’s and daughter’s pensions is barely enough for the necessities,” says mother Maria in despair.
Treatment at the “Victoria” Rehabilitation Center gives obvious results. After each course, Evelina feels more confident in space, and willingly perform all the therapeutic exercises that she was taught by rehabilitation specialists. She loves to draw, write letters, sculpt animals out of plasticine, and also tries to dress herself, help her mother and brothers. However, she manages all this extremely difficult.
Evelina's persistence and character add to the optimism of adults and show that they can't give up. Evelina must get to the next course of treatment! Let's help her in this together!
