A safe place for a new life

There is a place in Kyiv where women in difficult life circumstances, those who suffered domestic violence, women at risk, women living on the streets, women in conflict with the law, women living with HIV can always seek help. This is the Service center of Healthright and Halfway house for Pregnant Women and Young Mothers with Children in Kyiv, that provide comprehensive (social, medical and legal) assistance to them.

Halfway house also provides a temporary accommodation girls and young mothers who are in difficult circumstances for them and their children. Due to the difficult economic situation that has arisen in Ukraine as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, clients of the Service center and Halfway house, who are among the most vulnerable groups of population, are in a very difficult situation and in need of constant support and protection. Quarantine has also led an increasing in domestic violence.

The main objective of the project is raising funds to support clients of the Service center and Halfway house and their children during COVID-19 pandemic. For implementation of the project we require 50 000 UAH. The project is planned for 3 months. Each month, 30 clients and their children of the Service center and Halfway house will be covered with comprehensive assistance.
Each client will receive the necessary assistance package, which will be selected according to the individual needs of the client and her child.

The support will be provided by the specialists of the Service center and Halfway house social workers, who will also provide comprehensive on-line support and services on prevention of domestic violence. ICF "Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health" guarantees transparency, accountability and targeted use of funds.
