More space for children's technical creativity

The Center for Creativity for Children and Families «Otradne» has been operating in Kharkiv since 1996. It started with a small number of groups, expanding their list and focus. Today, the center for creativity for children and adults has 13 development groups and sports sections. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the center was forced to stop its work due to high risks, but in 2023 it resumed, given the high demand for children's development centers in Kharkiv. Today, the Center «Otradne» is a unique place for the development and communication of 246 children and 44 adults who attend the following clubs: drawing for children, drawing for adults, ceramics for children, ceramics for adults, dancing for children, ballroom dancing for adults, chess for children, chess for adults, circus art for children, hapkido, preparation for school, technical creativity for children "Aviation modeling".

The technical creativity group "Aviation Modeling" is creative due to the technical component. Children develop models of airplanes, ships, rockets, unmanned objects, etc. Before the war, competitions were regularly held in which aircraft were launched into the air. Technical creativity develops a wide range of abilities that are important both for personal development and for the child's future professional activities: analytical, spatial and logical thinking, creativity; design and modeling, programming, working with tools; perseverance, accuracy and attentiveness, the ability to work in a team, planning skills; rationalization and invention, engineering thinking, marketing thinking.

Today, there is a great need to modernize and expand the room where training takes place. Unfortunately, due to its small size, it is impossible to effectively conduct classes or increase the number of beneficiaries of the group, which is especially popular among children and adolescents. The fund decided to enlarge the room: to complete the walls, extend the roof, the floor, do internal work and external insulation. It is for the implementation of these works that funds are needed, part of which the foundation hopes to receive within the framework of this collection - we are raising funds for sandwich panels for wall decoration.
