I run to pay for hours of life. Tkachenko Yulia
Greetings, everyone, my name is Julia. I am the mother of a special daughter, my little fairy Anastasia. She is special not only because she is my daughter, but because my little Nastya has a rare genetic disorder, cystic fibrosis. This disease mostly damages the lungs, the GI tract, and the liver. If one does not stick to a very strict treatment regimen, this disease kills patients very quickly.
But Nastya and I are fighters! And all my efforts and all the efforts of the volunteers for the charity foundations are directed towards one goal: for Nastya and other patients with cystic fibrosis simply to be able to live...to be able to breathe.
And that is why, for the first time in my life, I decided to take part in a charity marathon, and by doing that, to help other people who also need help right now. To help others, in the same way other people are helping my Nastya.
During this marathon, the foundation is raising money for patients with illnesses other than cystic fibrosis. "I don't mind that at all. It doesn't matter which patients we are raising funds for, as long as we can help someone who needs it," Julia writes to us, and worries over how long a run to register for. When you are not an everyday runner, to run any distance for charity is a challenge. But Julia decided to undertake this challenge, so all of us together can buy a little more time for Oksana to stay alive.
Oksana, a resident of the city of Lviv, has kidney cancer, which is incurable. However, the medications she takes keep the cancer in check, and don't let it progress. As long as Oksana is taking her medication, the tumor is not growing, and Oksana is alive. The only catch is that the medicine is incredibly expensive, and Oksana can't afford it. Each hour of her life costs 37 Hryvnias. Every hour, every day--it is dangerous to interrupt the treatment; if she does, the cancer will start progressing very quickly. 170 hours of life--that is the gift Anastasia's mother wants to give to Oksana. Please support her in this effort.
