Bogdan is in on the line of his life

White corridor, wards, treatment rooms… Toxicology department of the national hospital. That’s where 15-years-old Bogdan lives. A dreamer and an inventor of a "Make a wish" magic candy that is able to heal children. Bogdan is sick with severe renal failure and he is alive only due to dialysis procedures three times a week. Will this kid ever be able to break the vicious circle? Will he ever have the opportunity to live at home with parents, to study, to run, and to have fun? Or he will be tightened to the artificial kidney for the rest of his life? It also depends on us.

Bohdan is from the Old Irzhavets village of Poltava region. For several years he lives in the toxicology department of Okhmatdyt hospital, alone, without parents. Three times a week for 5-6 hours he takes hemodialysis. Since his childhood, the boy had problems with his urine excretory system because of the deficiency of the bladder. Gradually this led to renal failure. And on the top of this, the boy suffers regular convulsions due to hemodialysis that washes out calcium and potassium from his organism. The relief is granted only with the expensive drugs that his parents have to continually buy on their own.

This circle can be broken by kidney transplantation. But the transplantation is not done when both bladder and ureter failed. The Belarus doctors give Bohdan a chance to heal. They are confident that first of all Bohdan needs surgery on the urinary system. Such surgery at the Minsk clinical children’s hospital №2 costs 10000 Euro. After this, Bogdan will be included in the waiting list of the donor's kidney.

Bogdan’s parents are simple rural people, his father is a tractor-driver, and his mother is a social worker of the territorial center. They are already financially exhausted and won’t be able to gather such an amount on their own.
At UBB we plan to collect UAH 150 000 to help the guy.
