Bogdan, live!

The photo of Bogdan should now be on the poster with the names of the winners in the next taekwondo competitions, but, by the will of inexorable rock, she is nowhere, and he, recently still such a lively and energetic boy, hardly takes every new breath in the intensive care unit of the Kyiv Institute Hearts. Life turned upside down in an instant and Bogdan, who never had any health problems, became a recipient. At the end of January 2018, he had a fever, a cough, and symptoms of a common SARS. A week later, Bogdan went to school, and when he returned home, he complained of abdominal pain and nausea.

A day later, the symptoms disappeared, but a day later they returned and intensified. Mom called an ambulance, thought that the boy had an attack of appendicitis, he was taken to the Dnipro, where he was first sent to intensive care. At the moment, Bogdan was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy with a reduced contraction of the left ventricle of the heart. This is the main part of the diagnosis, there is also a failure of all heart valves, and initial pulmonary hypertension.

The boy needs an urgent heart transplant, as his heart is stretched and, increasing in size, at some point, is simply able to stop. Only transplantation can save, but the boy can’t stand the trip to Belarus, his heart can stop. The only opportunity to give him life is to establish a mechanical heart so that he can wait for the donor when he becomes older. The cost of such a consumable is huge, more than 5 million UAH. Bogdan's mom, Iryna Khorolska, and older sister Valentyna are not able to collect this amount of money on their own, therefore they appeal to all concerned people with a prayer for help.

Bogdan very early lost his father and grew up with the realization that he was the main man in the house. And indeed, as mother and sister say, with his kindness, sympathy, and care, he confirmed every day that a real man was growing in the house. More than anything else, Bogdan dreams of growing up, becoming strong and making so much money to transport his mother from the tiny room in the dormitory where they live now, to their own apartment, doing everything so that she does not need anything. But the way to the cherished dream of "making mom happy" he had one more, without which, the main one for him would not come true... Survive! To survive and live not in the intensive care unit, but to enjoy the life of an ordinary 13-year-old boy and again hug his beloved and dear to him people!

We would like to fundraise 2 000 000 UAH at UBB. The rest amount of money we plan to fundraise from the other sources.
