Chernihiv and Chernihiv region are one of the regions where active hostilities have been going on since the very beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by russian troops. Due to constant shelling and bombing, the situation in the city is extremely tense, most of the infrastructure is destroyed. During the last three weeks, there has been no centralized heat and water supply and electricity in medical institutions, as well as in the city as a whole.

Nevertheless, dedicated doctors continue to do their job: under the sound of sirens and shelling, they save the lives of patients, perform operations and vital procedures, give birth. However, due to constant power outages in medical institutions, neither ventilators, nor operating lamps, nor other important equipment, on which the lives of hundreds of patients directly depend, do not work.

The purpose of this project is to purchase 2 diesel generators in two medical institutions of the city, where patients are constantly receiving emergency care and medical procedures: the Chernihiv Medical Center of Modern Oncology and the Chernihiv Maternity Hospital. In this way, we will be able to provide them with autonomous power for the uninterrupted operation of vital equipment and help doctors continue to save patients' lives.

Currently, the Chernihiv Medical Center of Modern Oncology has 60 patients who receive medical care and undergo medical procedures. They are constantly accompanied by doctors, nurses and orderlies, and more recently by members of their families who have lost their homes as a result of the bombings. Thanks to the project, more than 200 people will be able to receive assistance.

Chernihiv Maternity Hospital is a basic medical institution and continues its work during the war: doctors here provide obstetric and gynecological and neonatological care to residents of the entire Chernihiv region. Since the beginning of the war, 127 births have been performed here, with an average of 4-5 births per day and one caesarean section. A total of 134 children were born here during this time, including 2 triplets and 3 twins. In addition, at the beginning of the war, there were 11 premature and seriously ill infants in the neonatal intensive care unit. Thanks to the project, 500 people will be able to receive assistance.

The work of physicians and the lives of patients should not depend on electricity supply! Let's help doctors continue to save the lives of newborns and seriously ill residents of Chernihiv region!
