The charity canteen, located in the premises of Caritas Kolomyia Foundation, started operating in the far 2001 and served 10 people in need. The equipment on which the food was cooked – an electric stove – was the humanitarian aid of colleagues from the Czech Republic. The fund's activities were expanding and the number of visitors to the charity dining room was growing.

The fund's activities were expanding and the number of visitors to the charity dining room was growing.

Today, the dining room delivers 20,000 meals a year. Every day, over 100 people get a hot lunch, for many it's the only meal a day. Breakfast and lunch in the dining room for disabled youths who come to Caritas. Delicious food is served by the dining room and children from low-income and large families, and children from crisis families. Very often master classes are held to prepare food for the representatives of the children's project. But the largest clients of a charity dining room are people who have been in difficult circumstances and people who are unable to survive on a meager income.

The charity canteen has not stopped working during COVID-19 quarantine period. We fell, that while such collapses are going on, the canteen is needed as never before, because the needy people are especially vulnerable during this period. Another challenge for us is providing support to families, that were okay before the quarantine, but now the circumstance has changed and our hot lunches are a lifebuoy for them. Upgrade of kitchen equipment is a guarantee of the canteen's continuation of work. And as the result - guaranteed meals for needy people.

But unfortunately, the kitchen equipment of the charity dining room remained the same as it was back in 2001. It has partially failed, only two sections are running on the stove, which take a long time to prepare and are quite energy intensive. Therefore, we appeal to all people of good will, to help us buy new equipment for the charity dining room. None of us are immune to unforeseen circumstances in life, so we urge you to be understanding and sympathetic to everyone in need of a charity dining room. You will soon forget your sacrifice, but it will remain in God's memory forever.
