Lera has a number of terrible diagnoses: cerebral palsy, symptomatic epilepsy, microcephaly against the background of mental retardation. It is hard to imagine how much grief she went through. First everything was good: all pregnancy period was normal and without any pathology. However, misfortunes never come singly. The girl was born in 42-43 week and during childbirth the problems took place (abnormal delivery). Doctors tried to do everything in their power in order to help baby to born. Finally, pressing fetus out led to hemorrhage of the brain.

That’s why Lera suffered from so much pain: she had strong cramps and investigations have shown a lot of cysts in the frontal convolution. First year the child underwent medication at Dnepr state hospitals; then due to better state of health, doctors decided to add some other rehabilitation centers. It became possible to do electrical brain stimulation and expansion of medical treatment by adding stimulators and modulators. A glimmer of hope arouse in parents’ hearts when their girl was two – she underwent her first course of treatment at Bersenev Medical Center.

The results were impressive – the baby began cootching, using her hands, fixing her eyes on different objects. Also, her emotional state became much better: Lera became more quiet and sociable, sleeps better. Now she is 11 years old and due to regular treatment at Bersenev Medical Center, good progress is obvious. She can already walk with assistance, holds her head and uses her hands well. The child has normal mimicry, eats and drinks well, can sitting without assistance; her posture is correct, vocabulary enriches and speech becomes distinct.

In order to gradually improve both physical and intellectual state of health, the girl needs to undertake courses of treatment at Bersenev Medical Center at least 3 or 4 times per year. Unfortunately, parents are not able to pay for the most part of the treatment required. That’s why they ask for financial aid in order to make Lera’s dream of becoming healthy come true. If caring people combine their efforts, it will be a great step to recovery and a full life. The family will be extremely grateful to everyone who gives a helping shoulder in their uphill struggle.
