We provided assistance to the neonatal and post-intensive care of newborns at Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Perinatal Center.
Pulse oximeter is a medical device, which fully monitors the condition of the baby during nursing. It has a special sensor that attaches to the baby and monitors how much oxygen is in the blood. The doctor or nurse, with this data, can adjust the percentage of oxygen given to the baby depending on the baby's individual needs. Another very important thing is that premature babies often have respiratory arrests (apneas). They may be physiological, due to immaturity and pathological. This condition can be fatal, and with the signal pulse oximeter respiratory arrest can be recognized immediately and take the necessary steps to ensure that the child begins to breathe again.
These special pulse oximetry sensors were purchased and given to the hospital, where little Ukrainians' lives are saved every day.
