Give kids a chance for a healthy childhood

The health of children is the main goal of society, because it is they who determine the future well-being of the nation, economic and spiritual development, standard of living, culture, and science.

Complications from premature birth are one of the causes of children's disability. A significant number of such children may have various neurological and somatic disorders, which in the future will significantly complicate their socialization and impair the quality of life.

But under conditions of timely, high-quality care and rehabilitation, the consequences of premature birth for children's health can be avoided or significantly minimized. To achieve this goal, it is vital to carry out rehabilitation measures from an early age that contribute to the reduction or overcoming of physical, mental disorders and intellectual disabilities, the acquisition of household and social skills, the development of abilities and integration into society. And most importantly, timely and high-quality rehabilitation and professional supervision of doctors give the child a chance for a healthy and happy childhood and a fulfilling future.

The goal of our project is to purchase a manual table for the rehabilitation of children with a load for the rehabilitation department of the Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital. This equipment will increase the efficiency of the work of the occupational therapist, who is part of the multidisciplinary team of the rehabilitation department, namely, it will improve the development of movement coordination, help develop the joints of the hands and fingers, improve the mobility of the joints, strength and endurance of the muscles.

It is during such classes that children develop and improve self-care skills, which is very important in everyday activities for adaptation in the environment.

Over the past year, 757 children of various ages were treated in the rehabilitation department of the hospital. The hospital provides rehabilitation services free of charge to all residents of Kyiv region.
