News – July 2026
On 25 June, Melanka underwent a scheduled operation to remove the metal implants from her left thigh and knee. The operation lasted around 1 hour 30 minutes and was a success.
Melanka found it difficult to recover from the anaesthetic, as she felt constantly nauseous. Despite this, she is gradually recovering.
After the operation, the doctor ordered a further X-ray to assess the results of the treatment.
On 14 July, in Kryvyi Rih, Melanka’s stitches were removed from her operated leg. The wound is healing well, and she is now able to go for walks. The summer warmth brings her much joy: Melanka loves walking outside, visiting the playground and feeding the pigeons.
In a few months’ time, she will undergo another operation to remove the second metal implant, followed by an important period of monitoring. The doctor plans to measure the angle of her spinal curvature, as its condition is a cause for concern and requires careful monitoring.
Step by step, Melanka continues on her path to recovery. We would like to thank everyone who supports our little girl and stands by her side.
