In March 2026, a project was launched on the platform of the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ (dobro.ua) as part of the ‘Children’s Hope’ charity programme – ‘Children’s Hope: a dermatome to save children with burns’. The aim of the project was to raise funds to purchase an Acculan 4 dermatome for the St Nicholas Hospital, part of the 1st Territorial Medical Association of Lviv, in Lviv.

An agreement No. 03-2026/2 dated 19 March 2026 was concluded between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” and the supplier, Limited Liability Company “B. Braun Medical Ukraine”, for the supply of equipment.

Payment for the equipment was made to the supplier on 31 March 2026.

On 31 March 2026, the Acculan 4 dermatome was handed over to the hospital.

The Acculan 4 dermatome is already helping doctors to treat patients with severe skin damage following burns and injuries. Thanks to its high precision, the device allows for the even harvesting of skin grafts, which significantly increases the effectiveness of surgical treatment and the chances of successful healing. Such equipment is critically important for performing complex reconstructive surgeries and skin restoration, and thus for returning children to a life free from pain and the severe consequences of injuries.
