In the spring of 2023, Kyivstar, together with the charity platform dobro.ua from the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, joined forces with the National Rehabilitation Centre ‘Unbreakable’ and expanded the Children's Hope charity programme to include a new area - helping children with burns. This initiative arose as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to statistics, 12,000 children in Ukraine suffer burns every year, and 25-40 of them die as a result of life-threatening burns. And because of the war, this number is growing every day.

The St. Nicholas Children's Hospital is a unique medical centre, part of the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Centre. Every year, more than 40,000 children from all over Ukraine receive help here. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the hospital has become a real lifeline for more than 350 severely wounded children affected by the war. Today, it treats the most difficult cases, including children with mine-blast injuries, severe burns and the consequences of serious wounds. Due to the war, the workload of the medical facility has increased several times.

On the sixth anniversary of the Children's Hope project, Kyivstar allocates UAH 8.3 million to complete the arrangement of the burn surgery unit at the Unbreakable Centre in Lviv as part of a joint project with the dobro.ua charity platform. The total amount of support from the national electronic communications operator for the needs of the unit reached UAH 28.3 million.
