Children's hope: help of the Dnepropetrovsk RCCH-5

In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals.

In the framework of the Oncology project in April 2021, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital will receive assistance.

KP "Dnipropetrovsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital" DOR "is a center for providing specialized medical care to children from Dnipropetrovsk region (population of about 550 thousand), including patients with cancer and hematological pathology.

Every year, more than 150 children with cancer receive special treatment at the hospital. About 85 of them are with primary forms. Treatment is carried out according to protocols developed and tested by the world's leading children's oncology centers. The result of treatment is close to the European average.

Currently, the hospital administration is conducting comprehensive preparations for the start of autologous stem cell transplantation. Thanks to it, about 30 children a year will be able to receive such treatment, which saves the lives of children in the most difficult clinical situations of high-risk tumors and in cases of chemoresistance. This technique requires a very high cost of special conditions for children.

 The funds raised for the hospital's transplant unit will be used to purchase a WPFD 2/4 plasma and stem cell defroster, which will help with transplants, and a number of medical furniture for the department: STP-3 device rack (1 piece), Shma-1 material cabinet (2 pcs), Table anesthesiologist CA-2 (2 pcs). This equipment will allow to implement the latest technologies for the treatment of cancer in children at a higher level.
